UCPBS and PRC: Reinforcing Solidarity

January 11, 2021

We have seen firsthand the grim effect and the anxiety caused by the effects of COVID-19 and even led us to redirect our lives and do an internal strategy-pivot to adjust ourselves to the new normal. While we put our personal goals on hold, the current situation still continuously pushes our efforts to things much bigger than ourselves- camaraderie and constant medical attention. The Philippine Red cross (PRC) has “always been first, always ready and always there” to provide medical help for the Filipino people.
On January 11, 2021, the Bank marked it third year of partnership with PRC in the voluntary membership of its employees, amounting to Php127,750.00. The membership is able to secure hospital allowance, emergency ambulance accessibility and blood assistance for 404 employees and their families.

This year’s turnover was attended by UCPBS’ President and CEO, Lizette Margaret Mary J. Racela and Corporate Planning and Communications Division Head, Jay Valera. The Philippine Red Cross was represented by Ms. Vanessa Lee-Calixto, Director of Fund Generation & Business Development. The endowment will be used for PRC’s operations in Blood, Disaster Management, Safety, Health, Social, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services.
To further extend assistance during these trying times, UCPB Savings Bank is also planning its annual bloodletting activity. This broadens our options in expressing our own language of “Kasama Mo”
