UCPBS Iloilo Branch Strengthens Ties with Iloilo City Community

October 8, 2025

UCPB Savings Bank (UCPBS)  Iloilo Branch continues to make meaningful connections within the vibrant community of Iloilo City.

The branch has been actively engaging in various financial initiatives, supporting MSMEs, OFWs, and the business community, through a strong partnership with the Iloilo City Government, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Bankers Association of Iloilo, Inc., and other key stakeholders.

Currently, UCPBS Iloilo is honored to be seated as a Board Member and the Immediate Past President (2024) of the Bankers Association of Iloilo, Inc. The Iloilo City Government, through the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Center (LEDIPC), continues to collaborate with the Association to deliver essential financial literacy and business training programs to the local community.

One recent initiative was held on August 7–11, 2025, where the city government conducted a pre-requisite retooling program for market vendor applicants across Iloilo Terminal, Central, La Paz, Mandurriao, Jaro, and Villa markets, all currently undergoing renovation under the PPP project with SM Prime, a flagship project initiated by former Mayor Hon. Jerry P. Treñas.

On August 9, 2025, our UCPBS Iloilo team had the privilege to speak in front of 300 market vendor participants to discuss the importance of establishing business relationships with banks,  risks of dealing with informal lenders (loan sharks), and advantages of responsible borrowing and financial planning.

This engagement is especially significant as many of the valued clients come from the Iloilo Terminal Market, located just a few meters from the Branch. With the market’s reopening slated for the last quarter of 2025, UCPBS Iloilo looks forward to regaining a strong market presence and continuing our mission to promote inclusive financial growth in the community.

Iloilo City Government is a strong “Kasama MO” partner for the continued trust and opportunity to serve the community.
