1st Takbo ng mga Bankero Supports First Brigada Eskwela Project in Calapan

June 9, 2026

The spirit of Bayanihan was alive and well during the 1st Takbo ng mga Bankero held on May 9, 2026, as the event not only brought people together but also helped support local schools in Calapan City.

The fun run gathered more than 1,200 participants, including members of the banking community, local partners, and running enthusiasts. With the help of sponsors and supporters, the event raised over Php 100,000. The funds were set aside to support education-related initiatives in the City.

Less than a month later, on June 3, 2026, the Mangyan Bankers Club, together with UCPB Savings Bank, Calapan Branch Lite, conducted its first Brigada Eskwela outreach. Five elementary schools benefited from the project:

  • Villa Antonio Elementary School
  • Gutad Elementary School
  • Buhuan Elementary School
  • Nagiba Elementary School
  • Sta. Cruz Elementary School

The group donated paint, cleaning supplies, and other school materials to help prepare the classrooms for the upcoming school year. These contributions aimed to make the learning environment safer and more welcoming for students.

The initiative showed what can be achieved when people work together for a common goal. Beyond improving school facilities, it also strengthened the sense of community among everyone involved.

Both the fun run and the outreach program were made possible through the support and cooperation of many individuals and organizations. From registrations to sponsorships, every contribution helped make a difference for the students and schools in Calapan.

The Mangyan Bankers Club and UCPB Savings Bank hope to continue organizing similar activities in the future, to support more communities and promote education.

Kasama Mo- in the run for a cause, and Kamasa Mo-in making schools better for our children.
